Courtney Schaffer is the proud owner and founder of Courtney Trains Dogs LLC based out of Columbus, Ohio. Since 2015, Courtney has held various positions in the dog industry, including kennel tech and dog daycare roles, before landing her first official job as a dog trainer in 2020. She then went on to serve as head trainer at that company for the next four years, eventually launching Courtney Trains Dogs LLC in January 2024.
When she’s not training dogs, Courtney spends her time with her own pack of five, exploring trails with her boyfriend Nathan, or working part-time at Fangs & Fur—a natural pet food store in Grandview Heights. A true local at heart, she also loves checking out the Columbus food and beer scene.
Courtney’s two personal dogs are named Kevin and Rook. Kevin is a Chihuahua mix who loves obedience training, being a star student, and a biddable demonstration dog. Rook is a border collie who loves participating and competing in various dog sports such as frisbee, K9 Nosework, French Ring protection sport, barn hunt, agility, and dock diving.
